This 2-day course is designed to support business and technical users, implementation teams, developers, and support personnel who are involved with a McKesson Health Solutions (MHS) Network Performanace Management (NPM) Solution implementation. The training consists of instructor-led, hands-on topics offering students up-to-date knowledge and hands-on experience with the Portico Platform.
The focus of this course enables attendees to understand the basic concepts, processes and technical underpinnings of the IPM Platform.
Lessons include:
- NPM Product Portfolio - An overview of NPM's Integrated Provider Manager (IPM) products and modules.
- The NPM 3Cs – A look at the key concepts that make up the foundation of the NPM Application. Discussed are definitions and the NPM solution construction, which includes the Core components, the Configuration framework and the Customization framework.
- Solution Architecture Overview - This module details the layers, components and technologies that comprise the NPM architecture. Discussions center on the Infrastructure, Core Services, Integration Services, and Presentation layers.
- Information Model Overview - An introductory look at the NPM Data Model, which includes Corporate Entity, Business Entity, Provider Organizations and Practitioners. A walk through a detailed example facilitates an understanding of the NPM Information Model.
- Navigating NPM - An overview of the Provider Manager front end and user interface, including how to get started, descriptions of the screen sections, and menus and toolbars functionality. Outlined are the techniques used to standardize data input throughout NPM applications. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Data Administrator - A detailed introduction to NPM’s Data Administrator outlining functionality and configuration capabilities. The three Data Administrator modes (Application Configuration, Source Reference Data, and Source Geographic Data) are discussed, along with a discussion of each mode's tabs and tab fields. The Data Dictionary, UDAs, Tables and Reference Data are among the tabs that are detailed. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Business Administrator - A detailed introduction to NPM's Business Administrator. Reference data used throughout NPM, maintenance of locations and territories in geographical mode, teams, filters, network hierarchies, etc., are among the functions that are detailed. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Reporter - This is an overview of NPM’s Reporter functionality. Discussed are the set of standard reports and pre-formatted letters. Also covered is the ability to create custom reports specific to the organization. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Security Manager - This is an overview of NPM’s Security Manager. Discussions center on tools for managing permissions, setting up role based security, the object permission hierarchy and user access permissions. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Studio Introduction - This session introduces NPM’s Studio. Lessons include an overview of NPM Studio’s functionality and descriptions of the 6 Studio modes.
- Studio Workflow – A detailed introduction to the Workflow mode of Portico’s Studio. Discussions focus on creating a graphical Wizard and understanding the Workflow designer including the available tabs and tools. A detailed discussion of a tasks, workflows, panels and Wizards is included. This session has hands-on exercises.
