This 3-day course is designed to support technical users, implementation teams and developers and should be taken in conjunction with the Fundamentals of IPM course. This is an instructor-led course with hands-on Network Performance Management (NPM) application training. The focus of this course enables attendees to understand NPM’s data model, workflow engine, rules engine, security, troubleshooting and integration capabilities.
Lessons include:
- Data Model - An in-depth session on the NPM Data Model explaining reference data, system tables, and McKesson Health Solutions (MHS) Entities. Understanding the relationships between Corporate Entity, Business Entity, Provider, and Practitioner is also discussed. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Business Objects - A detailed discussion on Business Objects including the what, why, when and how to use them. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Workflow Engine - An in-depth session on what the Workflow Engine is and how to tie a previously developed workflow to it and how to invoke it. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Studio Provider Selection Components – An introduction and in-depth discussion of Studio Provider Selection. The session includes a description of the provider match components contained in NPM’s Studio Rule Configuration Provider Gateway Match palette. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Studio Visual Rules - A detailed discussion of Studio Visual Rules. This session will describe how to create decision trees and tie rules and logic to it. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Gateway APIs - An in-depth session which describes the Provider Selection service API. Outlined are the Provider Gateway APIs necessary to offer a fine grain match with the ability to return specific NPM data. This session has hands-on exercises.
- Provider Data eXchange - An in-depth discussion of Provider Data eXchange. The session discusses the data conversion process from legacy systems and inbound feeds into the Portico system.
- Security Authentication - A comprehensive discussion of NPM's Security Authentication. This session explains how it can be extended and modified to support any single enterprise sign on solution. Also discussed is how NPM web application authentication is implemented and how it can be customized.
- Troubleshooting - A discussion on troubleshooting resources, solving common problems, and what to do before contacting customer support.
